Dog's Poop Make Good Fruiting Fertilizer

Many years back, we had an apple mango tree in our garden that seldom bear fruits. One day, my third brother brought home a dog which he had adopted from the SPCA. We named the dog Beebo and made him our 'guard' dog. We built a kennel for him under the apple mango tree which was the most shady spot of all in our garden. That same year, the tree bore us a lot of sweet apple mangoes. Thanks to our Beebo's poop and urine. The tree continued to bear us lots of fruits for as long as Beebo lived. We never applied any fertilizers other than burying our Beebo's poop around the tree.

I have read many articles on the internet saying that dog's poop, being very toxic and too acidic, is not suitable for fertilizing plants. I guess this is only true if the poop is in direct contact with them. I had seen for myself, how good a fruiting fertilizer it actually was, if handled correctly. Just like what we had done to our Beebo's poop.

  1. Dog poop is high in nitrogen which is what the tree needed to fruit.
